One of the questions most often heard
from iStopOver Hosts is how to improve their listings in order
to better attract guests and increase their visibility on the website.
Whether it’s tweaking small parts of their listing to better convey
their message, or a step-by-step guide on how to create the ultimate
listing, every host should be thinking of
ways to improve their listing. This is a fairly complex
question and I will be tackling it in 5 steps.
Achieving success on iStopOver is an incremental process. Hosts should
be mindful of the fact that their listing exists within a marketplace
that also contains competing offers from other hosts - because of this,
it tends to be all of the little things, that, when added up, can really
put you ahead of the other listings in your area. Over the next few weeks I will be going through the 5 main categories
to think about when creating a listing in order to maximize your chances
of success:
- Title
- Listing Description
- Taking Great Photos
- Host Information
- Price
All of these points are important, and none of them should be overlooked
when creating a listing. We will begin this series by looking at how
a good Title can increase the number of hits your listing receives,
and conversely, how a poor title can reduce the amount of traffic directed
to your listing.

Greetings Fellow Travelers,
With the arrival of the US Open, Queen's will be the center of the tennis universe. This event draws tennis fans and sport enthusiasts from around the world to The Big Apple. Being an avid tennis fan, watching it on television does not compare to seeing the pure brilliance of live tennis. The tournament is held at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center at Flushing Meadows Park in Queen's NYC. The US Open is the fourth and final Grand Slam tournament running from August 31 through September 13.
In honour of the US Open, I have compiled a list of delicious, yet affordable, nearby restaurants. So whether you're at the US Open, a Mets game, or just chilling in the Park, try any or all of these delightful places. Hopefully this will help you find another reason to return to Queen's, NYC.
